Connectors

Connectors overview

Connect your mail, calendar, chat, files and other apps so Dvina can read them, and approve every action that changes something.

Connectors link Dvina to the apps you already use, like your mail, calendar, team chat, files, CRM and payments. Once an app is connected, Dvina reads it to answer your questions and notices when something changes.

What connectors do

More than 100 apps can be connected, and each one uses your own sign-in. After you connect an app:

  • Dvina answers from it. Ask once, and Dvina looks across your apps for one answer.
  • Dvina can act in it. It can draft, create and update things for you, and it asks first.
  • Dvina notices changes. When something changes in the app, you get one short card that says why it matters. See Proactive and Feed.

Connect an app

  1. Open Settings and choose Apps.
  2. Choose Browse Apps…, then find the app you want. You can search by name.
  3. Choose Connect.
  4. Sign in to the app with your own account and allow access.

When the app is connected, Dvina tells you, and it appears under Connected in Settings › Apps and in Apps in your Library.

You can also connect apps during setup, or from your Feed with Connect an app.

Connect more than one account

You can connect your work and personal accounts of the same app.

  1. Go to Settings › Apps and choose the app.
  2. Under Accounts, choose Add Account… and sign in with the other account.
  3. To tell them apart, choose Rename and give each a name, like Work. Choose Make Default for the one Dvina should use first.

When Dvina reads, it reads all of your accounts. When it writes, the approval card shows which account it uses.

Reading and writing

Dvina reads your connected apps freely, so it can answer and prepare work for you. Anything that changes something asks for your approval first. The approval card shows what Dvina wants to do, and you choose Allow or Reject.

For some actions, you can choose Always allow in this chat. Sending something to another person, deleting for good and paying always ask, every time, whatever you allowed before.

Important

Nothing goes to another person, is deleted for good or gets paid until you choose Allow.

Databases and warehouses you connect are read-only. Every query is checked to be a single read before it runs. See Databases and warehouses.

Disconnect an app

  1. Open Apps in your Library and choose the app.
  2. At the bottom of its page, choose Disconnect and the app's name, for example Disconnect Gmail.
  3. Choose Disconnect to confirm.

Dvina stops reading from that app. What it already brought in stays, and you can connect it again any time. To have Dvina forget the app and its Pulse updates too, choose Remove and the app's name instead.

If you connected more than one account, you can disconnect just one: go to Settings › Apps, choose the app, then choose Disconnect from that account's menu. Your other accounts stay connected.

To disconnect every app at once, go to Settings › Apps and choose Disconnect All Apps….

Add your own MCP server

You can connect your company's own tools, like a wiki or an inventory system, by adding their MCP server.

  1. Go to Settings › Apps, and under Custom Apps, choose Add Custom App.
  2. Enter a Name and the Server URL.
  3. If the server needs it, fill in OAuth (Optional). Leave it blank when the server supports dynamic client registration.
  4. Choose Test Connection to check that it works and see the tools it found.

Warning

Only connect servers you trust.

A custom app works like every other app, and its actions ask for approval the same way. See Custom apps and MCP servers.

On Enterprise

On Enterprise, admins choose which apps and custom servers members may connect, see every member's connections and can revoke any of them.
