General holds how Dvina looks and speaks on this device. Account holds who you are: your name, the Livespaces you belong to, and how you sign in.

General

Open Settings and choose General.

Change the appearance

Next to Appearance, choose Light, Dark or Auto. Auto follows your device's own setting.

Change the language

Next to Language, choose a language from the list. Dvina switches to it right away.

Suggest your next message

Under Composer, turn on Suggest my next message. After a reply, press Tab to use what Dvina suggests. Turn it off, and Dvina stops suggesting. The setting is kept on this device.

On a computer

The desktop app has a few more rows in General.

Change the Quick Entry shortcut

Quick Entry opens Dvina from any app. Its shortcut is ⌥ Space on a Mac and Alt Space on Windows.

  1. In General, find Quick Entry shortcut.
  2. Click the button with the current shortcut. It says Press the new keys….
  3. Press the new keys. Use Option, Control or Command (Alt or Ctrl on Windows) with a key. To leave the shortcut as it is, press Esc.

To turn the shortcut off, turn off Quick Entry shortcut.

If another app uses the shortcut, the row says so. Choose another, or open Quick Entry from Dvina's menu in the menu bar or tray. On Windows, shortcuts with the Windows key are kept by Windows itself.

Ask Dvina about selected text

On a Mac, you can ask Dvina about text you select in any app:

  1. Select the text.
  2. Right-click it, then choose Services › Ask Dvina.

If Ask Dvina isn't in the menu, go to General › Ask Dvina about selected text and click Keyboard Shortcuts…. In Keyboard Shortcuts › Services, turn on Ask Dvina.

Update Dvina

Under Software Update, you see whether Dvina is up to date and which version is installed.

  • To look for an update now, click Check Now.
  • When an update is downloaded, it says Update ready. Click Install & Restart. Dvina relaunches with the new version.
  • If a check or a download fails, click Try Again.

To let Dvina look for updates on its own each time it opens, turn on Check for updates automatically.

Account

Open Settings and click your name at the top, or choose Account.

Change your name

Click Edit Name…, type your name, then click Save.

Switch, start or leave a Livespace

Under Livespaces, you see every Livespace you belong to, with your role and its plan. The one you're in has a checkmark.

  • Switch: Click another Livespace. You can also switch from the Dock.
  • Start one: Click New Livespace…, give it a name, then click Save. Dvina opens the new Livespace.
  • Leave: Click Leave and the Livespace's name, then choose Leave. You lose access to its threads, tasks, files and apps until someone invites you again, and Dvina signs you out. The Livespace stays for everyone else.

You can't leave your only Livespace.

To invite people to a Livespace, see Manage members and roles.

Add a passkey

With a passkey, you sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your screen lock instead of a code.

  1. Under Passkeys, click Add a Passkey.
  2. Sign in again when Dvina asks, then follow your device's steps to make the passkey.
  3. You come back to Account, and the new passkey is in the list, with the date you added it.

To rename a passkey, click it and choose Rename…. To remove it, choose Remove…, then Remove. You can no longer sign in with it; your other ways to sign in stay as they are.

See and sign out your devices

Under Signed-In Devices, you see each app you're signed in to, and when it was last active.

To sign one out, click Sign Out next to it, then confirm. It needs to sign in again.

To sign out of the device you're using, find Sign out on this device and click Sign Out.

Delete your account

Click Delete Account… and follow the steps. Everything in your Livespaces is deleted after 7 days, and you can cancel until then. See Delete your account.
